Here is my Design Team sample using 'Flower Fairy' by LiaStampz

There's my CIRCLE! I printed the full image in black & white on craft cardstock, then printed a duplicate onto X-press It Blending Stock & cut out the fairy using a circle punch. I've been wanting to try this technique, and I love how this came out!

Here's the TAG - with the RIBBON, which was tucked beneath the front image....

This was my first RECIPE challenge & I must admit -it sure made it easier to put this project together!

The roof of this "gazebo" was such a challenge for me! It took 3 tries before I finally got it right! Grrrr! I topped it off with lace, ribbon & the flowers match those on the cake.

And then it hit me..... >BAM!< We live on a secluded country road (of which most folks don't even know exist! lol) The weather has been warming up so we've been spending a lot more time out back....

My original idea for this doorhanger did not include the spiral bound messages at the top & the message pad - that was an after thought! I was staring out of my studio window...wracking my brains for a starting point, then I began cutting & piecing... then Viola! I thought, "What the heck, let's add a couple more messages on a flip pad & why not some space to leave a message?" This turned out to be a fun project & my Hunny was really pleased with the final turn out too. He really gotta kick out of the "Gone Fishin'" message because it's so him!

I created this lovely little photo box for my youngest daughter. Enclosed is pictures that were taken during her baby shower for her eldest daughter (now 2 years old!) I haven't had a chance to do anything with these picture & thought this photo box would be a perfect way to present these pictures to her...then she can either keep them stored in this pretty box or mount them in her scrapbook.... now to work on another one for her younger daughter's pictures! lol!

I wanted to create something a little more than card, and was inspired by a little booklet by Becca at Amazing Paper Grace. Here's a special Valentine's creation for my Hunny......

I altered the design to include a "cover" and is held closed
with a magnetic flap.

There are 8 pages and 2 pockets - lots of space to add sentiments, images & yummy embellies!

I stamped out my own designer paper using Stampin' Up! En Francais and Looks Like Spring stamp sets.

I used one of my favorite Love Poems for my booklet....

Love is patient, love is kind

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,

it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Here is my DT sample card for this week:

I love, love creating my own designer papers. For this card, I used a background stamp by Stampin' Up! En Francais. Against the red cardstock I used SEI Rose Petal and on the pink card stock I stamped using Versamark. I was going for a somewhat distressed, antique-ish look so I sponged a bit of ink in Rich Cocoa (Momento) along the edges & smudged the ink as well.... I made a simple envelope box to match!

Clean & simple....that's my approach to this week's card. Can you believe it? Me, who takes forever to finish a single card?! Oh my! lol!

I had this beautiful paper from Basic Gray in my stash (for like, forever) & I didn't want to cover up the beautiful print. In this case, less is definitely better! I stitched around the page, added a sheer green ribbon & topped it with a ribbon jewel. TA-DA!

A Christmas Luminaria

For easier access to the votive, I made a door on hinges.

I really love these lanterns, and have made several of them for various occasions other than just Christmas. This lantern based on a Lantern Gift Box which I found HERE

Basically, I followed the template, except that I attached the roof to the lantern base (it's glued, so the roof top does not open.) Then to access the votive, I made a door which is attached by small hinges.

Something gorgeous, something blue....

I had been working on this piece & wasn't it just my luck that is qualifies for the Wild Orchid Challenge #10 - "Blue Christmas"

So I quick finished this project so I can enter this week's contest, and TA-DA!

I was really happy with the final outcome of this piece... I had been working on it on and off since August! I often do that - start on something then I hit a HUGE creative block so I let it sit, while I "mull things over" then return to that project as the thoughts come to me. So you see, this took 3 months in the making! LOL! (But only because I'm my own worst critic!)

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Here is my DT card for this challenge,

using a digi image from My Favorite Things

I kinda feel like I need a visit from that friendly nurse. Not for medication, but a HUGE cup of strong coffee & a GI-NORMOUS chocolate bar! Oh you thought I'd get through this post without whinning? Oh heck no! (lol) Here's my "Wah!".... I have a fancy-schmancy Kuerig coffee brewer - you know the type that has little "K-cups" which you just drop in for an individual cup of coffee. Well, me being the coffee snob that I am, decided to forego the "K-cup" to grind my own coffee.... Mmmm! Yeah well, I guess I was not quite awake as I began to prepare my coffee. I forgot to add the filter. Duh! Water & coffee grind everywhere! What a mess! OK, so I try again...bleh! Huge iceberg like blobs of grind in my new cup of coffee! Then finally, after a 3rd try I get my mandatory & long awaited cup of coffee. Geez....it took me a good 20 minutes just to make a single cup of coffee! Was it worth it? Oh yes!

OK that was my "Wah!" for the day. I'm sure things will brighten up after this cup of coffee...thanks for lending me an ear & thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Christmas in Lavendar & Lace & Flowers

With Christmas fast approaching, I've been busy creating not just cards, but also gifts, packaging and decorations.

Here's a little something I made, using non-traditional Christmas colors. How about this lovely lavendar & lace & flowers gift?

The lavendar rose is handmade & sits so prettily upon a paper doiley, which is mounted on lavendar pieces cut with oval & scalloped oval nesties. I embossed the background paper with my favorite embossing folder "swiss dots," then added some very decadent lace which I bought from Wild Orchid Crafts. There's just a small touch of bling onto the lace, in which I added small purple rhinestones.

Remove the "flowered sleeve" ....

Ooooh.... there's more!

Aha! A shutter card!

And look - there's a little surprise! A yummy chocolate bar!

So without further ado, here's me (Annette) and Studio A Paper Creations in a nutshell:

I love, love anything "Hello Kitty!" I'm a big kid & while others may collect capodimonte figurines or Waterford crystal, I have penchant for "Hello Kitty!" And for the past few years, my friends have thrown me a "Hello Kitty!" themed birthday party. I'm so bad, I once spent nearly 3 hours in the Hello Kitty store in L.A. - I felt like a kid in a candy store!
I have a knack for remembering all of the colour names of papers, stamps, copics, etc and stamp designers....but I almost always have a bird of a time matching up those colors with the designer papers & stamps! When I hit that obstacle I end up making my own designer paper.
When I make something to be posted on my blog, I rarely ever create anything that can be done in minutes. Often times I will start on one thing, let it sit for a day or two, or sometimes even longer - until I get a creative surge & I think up the perfect finish to what I'm working on. I strive to be original & I put a lot of work into my projects - so I often create my own embellishments, especially handmade flowers. And, I will not think twice about tearing a project up completely & starting all over again! Talk about OCD (lol)

....am I a piece of work or what?!

Here is my DT card for this week:

This cute little girl is my very first stamp from The Greeting Farm - a goodie from one of my Stampin' Sisters, Priscilla. Thanks again, my "Sis-tah!"

I did not have any ready made flowers to match this color scheme, so I made the flowers using my daisy & birch leaf punches.

Here is a view of my card with the tag insert removed.

I used my stubby stamps from Judith for the tri-fold card background.

The tag insert opens & has plenty of space to stamp another sentiment

or write a little note within.

This started out as a Trifold Card, but ended up being a little more than intended... I have a tendency to add on things, or cut, tear & completely change my original project ideas. Sometimes, if I really don't like the outcome, I'll rip the entire thing apart & start over!

Anywho, I've also created a tag/card to insert into the Trifold. And guess what? I actually made a tutorial! Woo-hoo! I'll be honest, most of the time I just measure & cut & keep on going.... I don't often make tutorials or templates, although I know I really ought to. Linda, my sis-in-law, crafting partner & enabling buddy, always asks (more like "nags" - haha! wink!) about making templates for my projects. This one's for you, Linda! Ta-da!

Here is my card for this challenge. Both the image & digi designer paper is from ROBYN’S FETISH

Here is a closer view of the flowers & grass below the window.
I gave the flowers in the long flower planter a 3-D look
& I found a teeny weeny flower pot punch to go with my teeny weeny handmade flowers!

Although you can't really tell from this picture, the image is encased in acetate - to make it look like a real window. I used my scallop border punch & more foam dots for the roof.

I have been (im)patiently awaiting this challege so that I could share this purse gift set with you, which I actually made during the summer! The "designer" paper for this little purse & note "thingys" was hand stamped by Moi. I love to hand stamp my own designer paper for a unique, custom look... and it's soooo easy!
